Everyone loves a good love story, which is why I was so happy when my friend from middle school came to me ready to create a custom engagement ring for his girlfriend of 10 years!
Although this couple is from Massachusetts, we were still able to design their dream ring from miles away. I used the 3D CAD rendering software to go through each step of the design process with the couple, and it worked out perfectly!
Right of the bat, my friend knew that his lovely lady wanted a more low profile ring which is why they went with a rose cut diamond. When choosing a rose cut diamond be aware that the setting will make the stone appear larger then a traditional ring setting would. The rose cut doesn't hold as much depth, because of its flat bottom. This complimented the feel of the couple's desired simple and dainty look.
Now for the adorable story behind the way we chose to design the band. The couple has been wearing matching knotted bracelets for the past ten years. They wanted the band of the engagement ring to have a knotted look to match the bracelets they had always worn! I created a rose gold band that matched the knotted look of their bracelets, and I was thrilled with the way this came out. Simple details like this one, can have such a huge meaning behind them.
